“Sherlock Holmes and the Art of Evidence”

I want to pass along information about a free virtual presentation that one of my college classmates is doing Wednesday. Here’s the description:

“Long before the Federal Rules of Evidence even existed, the Sherlock Holmes’ stories offered great practical advice for lawyers and real-life investigators who had to figure out the facts and make their cases. This virtual session will draw upon Sherlock Holmes’ stories and will be led by former prosecutor Stephen Lee, who has written articles about Sherlock Holmes and investigative techniques.”

I’m sure there will be some good evidentiary tips in this presentation. And although the Federal Rules of Evidence did not exist in Sherlock Holmes’ time, this might be a great opportunity to think about how things could have played out differently had the Federal Rules of Evidence applied in his stories.

The presentation is sponsored by the Chicago Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and takes place at 1 pm eastern on Wednesday, January 12. Register for free here.
